home made ss silverado

Hey just wondering if anybody what kind of problems i would run into if i used the msd box for my ls1 swap into a 2003 v6 silverado i was going to go carburated and then do an e85 conversion but just wondering what kind of problems i could predict i wanna use the trans thats in there

Would be cheaper/easier to just buy a pullout engine with the harness. Should be able to get it for $2K or so.

Shouldn't have any problems with engine but the dash gauges and other electronics in the truck may have issues. You will need special fuel lines and other parts to go E85.

I saw an article not long ago where they ran E85 in a non flex fuel vehicle, and aside from terrible gas mileage, the stock truck handled it just fine and there was actually less valve train wear then compared to that of the gasoline model they tested at the same time...

Most newer engines were made to run with at least some ethanol in them anyways, so no special fuel lines will be needed, the only thing I see you needing is a tune for E85.....

You could still get a harness and use the truck computer unless you are against it. You may be happier with the end result and it may be worth more if you ever sell it.
