Clutch Hydraulics question
How do you work out the clutch hydraulics?
Do most clutch master cyl provide enough pressure, and fluid displacement to work with the LS slave cyl?
How do you know before hand?
I don't want to get the drive train all mounted and find out that I'm not moving the throw out bearing enough for clean disengagement, or, even worse, that I've over stroked the slave cyc and popped a seal.
so get online or ask the seller what the HTOB needs. Most of the bolt patterns are pretty standard. I filt a wilwood on my metric jap car.
3/4 bore by 1" stroke I understand.
also didn't understand what you fit to your datsun...
for the post above,
don't laugh, it's for a 97 volvo V90 (960) wagon.
it's going to be a super sleeper.
we're a saab and volvo family, though I do have chevy in my blood, which shows up as the z06 in hibernation for the winter.
I've seen plenty of 5.0 Volvos and a few LT1s, this is going to be a little bit more. It's a nice, well you have to appreciate a volvo, top trim level wagon with IRS. All body color bumpers, door handles, mirrors etc, which go a long way to moving away from the "brick".
if all goes well, and I've learned not to expect it to, a GTO drive train will be in my garage tomorrow night.
I got a 2004 gto drive train and used the master cylinder that came w/ it, the GTO. I just had to swap the rod that connects to the pedal and make a simple adapter... works great.
No laughing here, I've thought about the 940/60 myself. No one would suspect it!
http://www.jagsthatrun.com/ has swap manuals for V8 volvos. don't know if they have LS specific ones but I used there first gen manual pretty heavily in putting an LS into my Datsun. I am sure they would address what type of master cylinders will fit.
