and nothing to report today, except that i spent 3 hours today cleaning the garage and only managed to clean one corner of it ! it's been so long since i cleaned or organized the garage ; recently it looked like a bomb went off in there

Found this thread whilst looking to see if this swap was do-able. Excellent and informative! Do you still think the installation when complete will be lighter than the original? The suspension looks a little better settled now.

I am extremely impressed by your build, would like to thank you for sharing this build, and your other builds with us on this forum. Thanks for taking the time to show us everything.
I would also like to drop by your shop one day, and check everything out sometime when I'm in Saudi since I visit there from time to time. Best of luck with all your builds.

thank you all for the kind words !
sean , its still not settelled the pics look deciving the car still has a stink bug stance to it somewhat but i'll be swapping to some lowering springs in the rear later down the road. and i do beleive the new combo is lighter; from what i read it is lighter ( don't remeber how much) , and from the stance you can tell .
low lsx , you are more than welcome to stop by any time ( but i have to warn you , its about 30 miles out of town ) , give me a pm before you get here
and sorry for being slow with the updates, been trying to get the camaro done and i just done with a local baja rally event , so i should pick up the pace again

i didn't get to work on the car very much lately , been busy with the camaro and work and other stuff, but i did manage to mess around with the intake tubing for a change
i decided that since this car will be N/A for the time being , then F/I once i get all the bugs worked out , why not build an intake tube that will work with both setups. i was planning on running one tube to the side and slap a filter on it , then i thought , why not TWO !
so the plan is to make a Y ( more like a T) right in front of the TB that branches tot he sides and goes where the intercooler outlets would be . and since there are no intercoolers , thats where i will run the tubes to and connect the filters at. this way , when i put the intercoolers on , its just a matter of connecting them to the intake tube
anyhow , here is what i got done:
fist off i got a 3" dia. aluminum U bend and cut it in half , then scalloped the top part to but the two halves together:
i then fired up the tig welder and set it to weld alu. and proceeded to weld them up to make the Y :
and here's a close up of my handy work
and thats about it
i think i still have to add a few bends so it better fits in the engine compartment , but thats for another day
other than that , the battle to reclaim my garage from the mess i made is progressing well: i managed to clean half of it
( it more like like an archeological dig rather than a clean up: i found stuff from '99 )
