If your experienced, work hard on it straight 30 days should be a cake walk for you nowadays with all the tech support available in the stickies and from all the other swappers who can post up and help you out if you hit a glitch.

Only thing I see that can really mess you up is if ALL your electrical is tip top. As in sensors and the like. I've seen a few threads of swaps pop up here and there where there were issues with stuff like crank position sensors and whatnot. Of course when doing a swap and then it doesnt run everyone thinks they've done something wrong.

Heck it took me some serious head scratching at first to figure out there was no regulator in my LS1 fuel tank which was putting way too much pressure at the rail and the injectors wouldnt open. Of course i was convinced it was my harness or a VATS issue initially so thats what I was looking into meanwhile it was a much simpler mechanical issue that I simply never thought to check.

Anyways good luck on the swap. Subscribing for possible help.

Made some good progress today, pulled the old TPI harness out, pulled the AC stuff out and anything that I didnt need from the engine compartment. Cleaned and painted the engine bay, installed the new Lokar Throttle cable, new 4th gen clutch and brake pedal, new adjustable ram clutch master cylinder, and the LS1 swap motor mounts. Tomorrow I am dropping the fuel tank and installing the Racetronix pump and harness. Pics...

Alright today we did the fuel pump, installed the relay and wires for that. Added another motor mount bolt to each side because it was kinda sketchy with only two. Started pulling my steering column apart to tighten the tilt mechanism and stopped mid way through that. Picked up my heads from the machine shop, picked up the vindicator cam from 01ws6 (thanks Isaac), got a shipment from TSP which had my whole valvetrain besides the pushrods which are on back order. The LS6 intake will be here friday, along with the high volume oil pump. The car is ready for it's new engine, which needs to be built first lol. Pics.

LS6 intake got here Friday, I also picked up the high volume Melling oil pump Friday. THE JUGGERNAUT will be helping build the motor tomorrow so if all goes well, this thing will be done this week. Oh yea and I picked up a set of new GM head bolts today from Phillip. Thanks man!!

So we put most of the motor together today, a few of the LS7 lifters were being little bitches though and getting stuck when you rolled them. These things are brand spanking new WTF?! Gonna call TSP tomorrow and see if they will send me some new ones. Any one have this trouble before? I got them soaking in oil now so if the loosen up by morning I might just use them. Anyways all I have left once I get the lifter thing figured out is, the one head, intake, rockers, and accessories. Here we go...

Found a couple more snags. The Callies crank I have is Keyed. The harmonic balancer I have is not. Ordered a new one from Yearwood and had it overnighted. TSP finally got on the ball and sent me confirmation for the lifters. Those will be here on Thursday. I am missing the coil brackets that bolt the coils to the valve covers, and I only have 7 plug wires. I also need flywheel and bellhousing bolts. Anyone have any of these parts lying around?? Today was frustrating to say the least. I did get my water pump, motor mounts, and alternator on though.

Ok guys....I got motivated today. LOTS of progress was made. Woke up, went straight to reliable, picked up the LS1 coil brackets for $18 a piece. Got flywheel bolts for $3 a piece. Got some bellhousing and valve cover bolts. Picked up a spark plug wire from DansAm. Stopped by yearwood to pick up my harmonic balancer. Got home to find some boxes on my doorstep. Lifters and pushrods....AWESOME. Slapped the lifters in, bolted the head on, threw the intake on, roller rockers, accessories, balancer....ok you get the point. So the motor is done. And I decided to go ahead and drop her in. It was dark so pics are ok. The next few days are gonna be full of work... got a lot to do still. Here ya go.

Congrats boys! The only thing that I see that may be a bit of an issue is your MAF placement. Sometimes when they are that close to the filter they dont read properly as the air is not "straightened" out yet so it makes the readings erratic. Just something to keep an eye on is all your tuner should be able to see if its ok and many times they are but i have seen this become a problem here and there. Although I cant recall if any of those times were with an LS1 as we build lots of stuff.

Also why no longtubes? With the engine you have your leaving a boat load of power on the table running manifolds. Hawks has a new 2" primary headers with a 3.5" single exhaust that would be killer for your car. Just thought Id mention
