We made it to houston and back without any problems. The swap now has 1200 miles on it and about 5 1/4 mile passes. My thrid pass of the day I managed a 12.7 @109 with a 1.64 60 ft on nitto Nt05 STEET tires not the drag radials.

I must say I'm very impressed with this setup and I cant wait to finish it 100% to plan.

Not only GREAT fabbing skills but clean and fast?

My head would be so big that I'd be breaking down buildings. LOL

LOL yeah my nuts hurt from everyone hanging off them. I have fun building them but I love the reactions from unsuspecting people also.

Here is a vid of the 12.7 run

I built the Mr2 before Houston last year. I built everything myself including the 2.2l forged stroker. That was easy since I build 20-30 Mr2 stroker motors a year .

It had Wiseco pistons and pauter rods with a fully built and ported head (by me). The cams were a Japan only high lift 10mm version but they were not too crazy either 264 duration.

Turbo is a billet 6262 flowing through a custom stailness sch40 manifold. I used a trunk mounted greddy TTsupra intercooler. Twin walbro pumps and 1100cc injector dynamic injectors.

When I tuned it at 33psi on Q-16 it made 715hp and 525tq. It was popping on the dyno but I just figured I was lossing spark. It turned out a bucket was being smashed (due to the closed spring height being set wrong by the maching shop) causing coil bind and a few days later on a cold start the bucket got stuck down and a valve got smashed. Motor had 5000 miles. So I rebuilt it and sold it to make the ls1 Is300 dream come true.

I love this build, this has been my dream for a bit but everyone in the Lexus/Toyota world always said I was crazy since the 2JZ motor is already pretty good and a Supra swap is so much easier. Screw them, this is waaaay more awesome. You let me know if you ever consider selling this thing cause I want first dibs on getting my hands on it.

man, you built what was in my head! LOL

btw, were you able to hook up the ac? I figure in Texas, that would be a requirement!

Great job though!

Your car looks awesome and you've got some major fab skills. What kind of welder do you have access to? Someone needs to organize a LSx hybrid car gtg in DFW. Do you know some guys with a MR2 shop up in Denton by chance?

I worked at ATS Racing for over 5 years and still currently do contract labor for them. I have a miller sycrowave 250 and numerous other fab tools.

I'm working full time and moving but A/C is in the works. Lucky for me the weather is nice right now

Holy crap, you finished your car in less time than it took me to get a clutch in the mail... Amazing job to say the least. I am way envious of your abilities

Funny, buddy and I wanted more info on this car when we saw the video of it running at the TX2k and than I get an email from LSXtv
Very nice work, the quality of build you've done, I'm positive you could have picked up a sponsor or two along the way.
We are waiting for forced induction in 30 days part 2! lol
