I remeber pics of a Fox Stang with a Powerstroke...

The problem is gearing. The rev range of a diesel is so narrow that it just doesnt make sense.

Man this is an awesome idea! That thing would absolutely smoke anything! Until you shifted into second gear.

If you took a duramax with about 600 hp/1100 ft lbs, then it'd move. But you'd just be smoking the tires for eternity. And it'd be way heavier. A powerstroke motor weighs at least 500 lbs more than an LS1, not counting all the turbo hardware.

Bad idea. If you want something that makes crazy torque, swap a buick turbo motor into a f-body.

I've seen pics of a few diesel Corvettes that guys in Europe have done. Some of those guys think way outside of the box... I think they were going more for economy than performance though.

One of my buddies is thinking about putting the 6.5 in his 91 Camaro. He's a farmer though..but a mechanical genious, went to UTI in Houston. The only thing holding him back is the downpipe for the turbo. I think if he gets that solved, he'll be doing it for sure. That'll get some looks from the truckers at the truck stop...
