LS3 from 2010 Camaro into 1999 F-body
I want to do as the title says, put a LS3 into my 1999 Z28.
I know this has been done before, but what I want to do is use the late model computer that's designed for the engine rather than adapting the older PCM.
Obviously the engine with its own computer will work fine, it's the other pieces that I don't know about. I am able to make the wiring changes, but what I don't have is information on what will be compatible with what.
For example will I be able to interface to my instrument cluster and have it work?
The late model engines all use drive by wire, I'd like to keep with that. It will involve installing a DBW throttle pedal, does anyone know what will work there? Will my cruise control wiring adapt to the new system?
I want the final installation to look as close to a factory installation as possible.
Is there a good source for information on all the electronics involved?

GM High Tech performance did a write up of swapping in a LS3 a while back. If you got the manual 2010 Camaro its the same. If you got the 6 speed auto, you need to decide if you want to retain the DOD & VVT
Anywho..... heres that magazine link. http://www.gmhightechperformance.com...wap/index.html
I hope this helps some. Be sure to take pics and share your swap with us. Good luck.

Thank you, that's good information but not what I was looking for. This swap was using the LS1 computer, I want to use the LS3 controller.
Anyone else know what would be involved in having the LS3's PCM interface with the rest of the car's electronics?

PM me. If you're in Houston, you can come see mine, I have an LS3 in my 1998. You're going about this the hard way. Just use the LPE converter and be done, stick with the OEM PCM and harness as much as possible.
