Ive got a carb'd 6.0 in mine....... First thing I did was pulled the plastic cowl trim off/hood off, put the motor in, intake on, and then set the carb back in there and "marked out" where I needed to cut. I cut the cowl a little big so if I ever go to a Dominator or something, I have plenty of room. I "trimmed" the plastic a little on the "tight" side, so it if that day ever comes, its just a matter of trimming plastic. I also ditched the wipers, and made a couple plates to cover up the vents/seal the cowl back up where I cut to box it back in. Right now, Ive got a Vic Jr/950HP, the stock hood DOES not fit, so plan on an aftermarket hood, I picked up a Glasstek 4" cowl hood. The hood itself has to be cut too, there is a support that goes from hinge to hinge underneath right where the carb sits. Ill dig around through my pictures, Im pretty sure I snapped some up, but the camera died around that time, and I dont know if they were on the old one or the new one.............
Its really not that bad to do, just time consuming....... and the old saying "measure twice, cut once" definitely comes into play
