Default PRND Inputs?

What are these PCM inputs used for? I have been doing research and came across them and Im wondering what they are used for.

Are they used to show which gear you are in? If not, is there another way to setup some LEDs or similar to show what gear Im in?

Are talking about the ones coming from the selector switch on the side of the tranny or the ones from the pressure plate in the tranny itself?

It's primarily used to increase idle speeds (in and out of gear) and a couple other minor functions. Unless you have emissions testing you can have them deleted in the PCM file and the engine will run just like a manual trans engine.

How do they factor in for emissions? My swap has to go through a Referee so it will need the Motors emissions controls in place.

Not sure. You can delete it and try to pass the test. It's in the factory service manual but no time to check it out.

Any other advice or info on this? Can this be used to run a gear indicator light? I got my transmission and the switch is still in tact so I can easily hook it up and run it.
