what transmission are you running? If its a electronically controlled transmission then yes... like the 4L60e But if you use a TH350 or 700r4 or something along those lines... then no

i plan on using a t56 but i might go with a 4l60e. I want to stay away from computers as much as possible thats why im going to use the carb set up. is there any way around it?

The "e" in 4L60E stands for "electronic" so you'll need some sort of black box to control it.

The T56's only glitch would be the reverse lockout solenoid, but that can be overcome.

i see. Basically if i want to go 4l60e i have to use pcm and then its kinda pointless to run a carb since i still have to have what i didnt want in the first place haha.

What would it take for the lockout solenoid to be overcame?

You can run the 4l60e with a trans. control box. I would find a 700r4 intead, much more simple, if you want to go the auto route.

Sorry, no experience with the T56. If you really want to go stronger, and you don't mind the controller, go to a 4l80e.

Some people just hook it up with the brake switch or run without it. Just keeps you from going into reverse when aiming for 5th.

the 4L60e is not strong by any means in stock form. I'm going with a mildly built 700r4 in my 6.0 carb conversion.
