Cam Position P0342 Trouble After Swap
I got my 2000 5.3l swap done but it's not starting very well and throws DTC P0342 Camshaft Position Sensor (CMP) Circuit Low Voltage. Once running it runs great though.
I know the PCM sends 12v to the cam sensor. I have not checked anything yet, just looking for some help on what to look for.

Cam bolts are loose. This just happened to a buddy of mine, in his 03 vette. Got a P0343 Camshaft Position Sensor (CMP) Circuit High Voltage. The car would start hard but once running it was fine.
We pulled the timing cover off and all three bolts were not even finger tight. I suggest you check that first, I know it's a PIA, but 99% sure that is the problem.
Don't believe me? Goto the corvetteforum and search P0343 or P0342, almost every thread is about loose cam bolts. There is maybe two post about a bad sensor.

Damn and I just had the water pump off.
Anything else it could be?
With key on there should be 12 volt at the connector right? I want to check everything else before I pull the timing cover off.

I'm not sure but I don't think this PCM is from the engine/trans setup I got. I think the year might be different.
Could this have something to do with needing a case relearn?
