Default Cleaning up a swap motor?

Im in the process of getting a takeout LM7 ready for my swap. However, its a motor from New England and is quite a bit dirty. My current plan is to leave it as sealed as possible, but the Oil Pan, Intake Manifold, Water Pump, and Valve covers will be coming off and resealed because a new pan is needed, and I would like to tap the water pump. The intake seems to be a common suggestion and valve covers so I can get a look at the top end. Nothing is leaking on the motor currently so I don't see the need to tear into more of the motor.

However, the motor is very dirty and I really want to clean it up prior to dropping it in my Jeep. Im looking for some suggestions on how to clean it without tearing it all down completely.

Along these same lines, how can I clean up the accessories? PowerSteering Pump, Alternator, etc...

I'm actually doing mine right now. I took it down a bit further than your gonna do since I put a cam in it. All I tore down was the front timing cover, valve covers, intake, valley cover (went to LS6), and oilpan. I even painted everything while I was at it. I'll post pictures in a little while.

Any other advice on this? I gave it a good soak with purple power last night, but the top end is REALLY grimmy. Is there a safe way to clean the top end after removing the intake manifold because there is a lot of dirt, leaves and grease stuck down between the intake parts that a shop vac just can't pull out?

I plugged and taped everything (engine was a longblock on the stand), built a plastic tarp "tent" and glass-bead blasted it. Came out like new...

I need to do the same thing with my swap. engine is really dirty but was wondering the best way to clean without screwing something up. how about dowsing it with like engine bright then housing it down. what need to be sealed up other than TB?
