Does anybody know what needs to be done to modify an automotic trans LS1 harness at home to work in a 68 Camaro w/ a T56. I do not have to deal w/ emissions.

delete all the unused emissions wiring, run new wires to the manual trans.
you can use the f-body underhood harness to power the engine harness,
i modified mine to fit into one fuse block, with all the relays included.
takes time but saves $400-700.

just have to swap auto trans wires with run manual wires.
the auto harness will be long enough to reach the manual solenoids, just switch over the wires running to the pcm.
the pcm terminals are easy to disassemble, just remove the blue/red plastic, and each pin has a plastic retainer, the wires pop right out.

Can I just pull the second sets of O2's out and reprogram also? Or do I have to buy the sims. As far as a fuse box, do I just run a fused 12v lead to the hot on the PCM and fuse the injectors. I guess the fuel pump needs a relay also.

you can ditch the rear o2's, it wont hurt performance just turn on the check engine light. if you have ls1 edit you can delete the codes for them, also the egr, air, evap, and fuel tank pressure.
this is how the factory does it(my manuals are 99's)
10A pcm bat, powered all the time..........pin 57 and 20
10A pcm ign, ign power......pin 19
15A inj 1, powers injectors and ign modules on one bank
15A inj 2, powers inj's and ign modules on other bank

Lets say i buy a T56 engine harness. That would include everythin I need (connections) to hook up a t56 to my engine? Could I actually just tie off the unnecessary emission wireing for the time being? Also could i still run the T56 on the Auto trans computer for a while?

i dont know, you can call one up and ask.
you will have to find one with an off-board programming harness(good luck) because they use the tech-2 to flash pcm's.
the tech-2 connects to the vehicle through the 16 pin dlc, then connects to their computer with an rs-232 connector. so you would have to drive your car to the dealer.
