Truck Water Pump Steam vent question?
Tapping the front will work, but be careful the aluminum is very thin and easy to strip. You also have to retap the hole each time the pump is replaced over the lifetime of the vehicle. Its much easier to Tee the steam line into another part of the cooling system, such as a heater core line or a port on the radiator
I'm using a 2004 vortec engine and throttle body with a LS1 intake and there really isn't a room to tap a steam vent anyways.
