After months of chasing my tail and thousands of dollars spent, I have found that my 6.0. from a donor vehicle (2007 2wd chevy silverado classic crew cab 1500hd with 6.0 lq4/317 heads/4L80 trans), has a 58 tooth reluctor wheel. Finally after snatching the wiring harness and f.i. system (modified and flashed by SPEARTECH spring 2009) off after it was all installed but not functioning properly and then converting over to carb/intake, and still having electronic issues, the problem was narrowed down to timing. I spoke with edelbrock and MSD techs and they told me that the information that I believe to be true was incorrect (24x wheel) and they told me how to look and see.

I worked at a gm dealer for 9 years and never seen any issues with the fly by wire. I have the LQ9 in my Silverado SS. First thing I would get a better code reader with the ability to view data. Check and see what the pcm is seeing for the tps. Also with a better code reader it may give you thee code your engine light is trying to communicate to you. good luck

That's good to know, but a stock application is a far cry from stuffing a DBW motor and reworked harness into a different vehicle.
I'm vrry happy to hear that the system is reliable and hope that I'll never have to install my spare TAC module or hit the parts house to buy a replacement motor for the TB...but I'm realistic about it as well. Plan for the worst and hope for the best.

You are 100% correct. If it wasnt ment to be there there is always room for challanges. My friend replaced the motor on his Subaru and had a simelar issues with crank cam signal due to number of teeth. The peeople at the dealer swore up and down that the teeth were the same on both engines. The current project I'm working on is a 71 Camaro LQ4 6.0L conversion. I have also been dreading the wiring but have seen several threads in here that can help you out in a major way.
