Default need help! LSx mustang

I'm was going to try and drop my 6.0 but i cant find which way the motor mounts are suppose to go. is the pointed part of the mount suppose to go towards the front of the car on the top???

does anyone have a pic of the engine mounted up? i want to make sure i have it the right way because if its on the wrong side it moves the engine forward or backwards and then the trans mount wont line up.

also any one have a problem with the 3rd hole lining up? looks like have to oblong it alittle farther then it is.

thanks

Did you use the AJE or similar K member for swapping in the LSX?

Hmmmm

I have had mine in the car with the point up and pointing forward and the engine sits in the car fine and the AJE trans mount fits perfectly

swapped the other way would shift the engine about an 1/2 inch forward and be very close to the pan hitting the oil pan

I would think that the mounts go the same on the LS style engines as they do on the SBC/BBC which need to have the point forward due to the motor mount being a little farther forward on the SBC/BBC??

AJE also pictures them with the point forward and up

I'm real confused now now i don't know if i want to continue with modification on the frame rail i was going to box it all in in the morning. when i put mine on with the points up and forward the point would hit the spot where the f body alternator mounts to. i wanted to have this part done but if i flip the brackets I'm going to have to clearance more !

AJE is really starting to **** me off. is it really that hard to put a pic or a reference in the instruction of which way they go? there product doesn't fit very good and they change an arm and a leg for it! again.

well i went to measure up my trans cross member and another thing they never told me is that it will only work with a factory v8 car. because the trans mounts are different.

It dont have to be a V-8 car. It just has to be newer than 86. 87 on up. I had the same issues with a 80 coupe they told me to cut it down. It was made for a 87-93. It dont matter between an 8 or a 4, they are the same.

well i cut out the frame rail and boxed it in. also the mounts should be points to the back on top. i fixed my problem with the cross member used the original mounts for it towards the front of the car and then fab'd up a mount to move it back about 2inches. also got my dynatech headers on.

right after welding.

BTW , I know you got it figured out. I just posted these for future use. Don't mind the washers between the mount and the block...They are not needed anymore.
