6.2L VVT with 4L70E computer match up problem
6.2L VVT with 4L70E computer match up problem My programmer is indicating there may be an issue with the E38 PCM on a 6.2L VVT 2007 Escalade talking to the T42 transmission computer in my 4L70E.
He says I may need a new E67 PCM to make it work.
Has this been done? I thought plenty of Trailblazers had 4 speeds?

There aren't any E38 controlled VVT engines from the factory that have a 4L70E on them.
So what he is saying is that programming the TCM with a 4L70E program from lets say a 2007 Trailblazer, then putting that on an E38 computer with a program for an Escalade or something is kind of an unknown combo. No real way of knowing if it works until you do it.

This is a common question at the moment it seems, I haven't seen a definative answer yet. jakeshoe has made some posts regarding mating VVT E38/T42 combos to the 4L80e trannies, he might be the person to ask whether it is possible to set them up with ISS 4L65/70's. jakesperformance.com

If you eliminate the VVT it can be made to work. There are ECM/TCM Operating System calibrations available for the E38/T42/4L65/70e combo. An factory example of this is the 2007 Holden VZ Commodore which runs a L76/4L65e with ISS using the E38/T42. There are also export VE Commodores (Pontiac G8) that are exported to the middle east with this same combo. That is the OS I am using for my setup which is E38/T42/58x LS2 block/L92 heads/L76 manifold/4L60e retrofitted with an input speed sensor.
Having said this I still think it is worth pursuing the idea of using the VVT if it possible

The 2010 up trucks uses the E38 with the L20 4.8L VVT motors and 4l70 as well as the LH9 5.3L VVT / 4l70 used in the Colorado. I don't see why it couldn't be made to work based off that.

This is what I used that worked. We laid the tune over the original L92 2007 Escalade computers. E38 and T42.
2007 Silverado Vortec VVT new body style truck OS, 2 Wheel drive with 4L70E. Engine displacement is different but that is about all.
