3 wire pigtail, need to have a step by step "how to" on the wiring of the altenator and battery. I know there are people out there whom have defeated this problem.

I am taking mine up to the local alternator shop and having it converted to a "self-exciting", "one wire" set up. They are charging me 40 bux. Then I won't have to worry about any of that. Just bolt it on and hook up the big wire on the back - done.

If you use the search button you can get the answer without having to pay someone 40 bucks.

How to wire an alternator has to be one of the most commonly asked (and answered) question in this fourm.

keep in mind one wire alternators don't regulate voltage as well as 3 wire alternators. Not as important for a carb'd motor with a mechanical fan. Gets a little more important the more electric components you add (like radiator fans, big stereos, run down batteries, heated seats...)
