flex plate spacer question
Pretty much I am hooking up a 5.3l (2000 yukon xl) to my 700r4/4l60
With the spacer I am suppose to just stick that thing right on the outside of the flex plate correct? Also I assume that the spacer's protrusion faces towards the converter as well.
This is the way I had it originally, and realized it was incorrect.

I tend to do things right until I over-think it so any help is appreciated
I also used this thread to justify my thinking, just wanted extra confirmation

Got questions, just ask. I don't bite... unless she asks nicely.
I don't mean to hi-jack so sorry in advance.
I picked up a stock 6.0L from a 1999 3/4 ton truck. Some have told me that I don't need any spacer, that I just need to elongate the T/C holes and everything should bolt up.
Or, do I need a spacer??
Since i was test fitting it that way looks like what I did has it good and stuck. I tried for about an hour to get that spacer off today so woohoo!
Seems like with these swaps everything that can go wrong does go wrong, and things that shouldnt go wrong absolutely goes wrong, and things that go right end up being wrong also.

how the hell do i get it off so i can switch it to the right spot?

If it won't (obviously) pull off by hand or with a wiggle and screwdriver method you can use the two opposing threaded holes and a slide hammer. The tolerances are fairly tight but you should be able to slide it off if it isn't wedged a bit.

Someone told me my car habit was cheaper than drugs and alcohol, but I'm not sure... I can't afford drugs and alcohol.
Note: This flexplate has a six-lug bolt pattern for use with the THM 400 and 4L80 transmissions. The converter mounting holes must be modified for use with Gen 1 and Gen 2 converters with 298mm bolt patterns
this is the description listing for your kit also. says spacer between flexplate and flange.
