Default VATS bypass?

Ok, my car is almost done, and i need to be able to get it started. And considering i foolishly went out and spent the money i had saved for my LS1 Edit...... i need to know where i would be able to find a VATS bypass module. I looked on Bakerelectronix.com , and they told me that they were not sure if it owuld work on a 99 LS1, because they switched over to a "Class 2" or a serial based anti theft system. I will copy and paste the e-mail he sent me so hopefully someone her can help me get my car on the road untill i can save up another $550 for LS1 Edit.
Thanks!

Kyle,
Unfortunately, I don't know. From 98 up to 01 the LS1s were changing over to a newer anti-theft system called Class2 or serial based it depends on what model of vehicle your PAM/engine computer came from. Our VATS modules only works for those Pumps that have a dark blue wire on the RED or 'C2' connector of the PAM that is labeled 'VATS' or 'Fuel Enable', usually in pin position 25 or 30.
Let me know if you have anymore questions.

Serial data VATS is used on Vettes and trucks.
If your PCM is from an F-body it uses the earlier PWM VATS.

VATS has nothing to do with the fuel pump or relay. VATS enables or disables the fuel injector pulses from the PCM.
All that pump and relay stuff is just bad internet info.

I don't know anything about that place, but if your using an F-body PCM that type of thing will let the engine start.

No I don't. We always turn it off with PCM reprogramming here.

If I understand this right .. the VATS system operates off of the ignition switch with a special key. Can't you get a new key and/or switch made up for the existing code? The engine and computer are from a donor car no longer in service so can't it be replaced from the dealer? This would allow one to keep the anti theft device which seems to be more important every day.....

the key has a resistor pellet, bcm sends power to it, if it gets the right voltage back, then it sends a 50hz signal to pcm to run the injectors.
you could just make the vats module easy to disconnect, then the car would not run without it. much easier security system.
