carb fourm
I'm a die hard lsx guy (check sig) I'm starting a 90 fox,5.3,turbo,carb project (time to go fast)
anyway, it seems that all the carb info is all over the place. there are alot of people doing carb set-ups it seems..
who all would be down to have a carb section? we could share tuning info,set-ups,blow through set-ups,tricks and cams used to pass smog ect.. I belive if we get enough people interested we might convince the mods to give us a section or atleast a sub section of the conversion/hybrid area..
any takers?
I plan to take lots of pics of my project and build up of the "phoeny pony"
There is another thread in here that has quite a few, bumped it a couple times to try and keep it updated. Here is the link:

im an original member from day1. also an administrator and moderator.
i manage and approve new accounts. we had lot spam bs at first. not as much now but still active sometimes.
its slow but i hope it will eventually rev up with the ls becoming more popular for swaps and cheeper.
imo its cheaper and easier to run a carb. on these ls motors. $ for $
my first swap ran mid 10s out the gate and new owner runs 9s on a holley plate on pump gas. with 6.0 lq4 i built with 243 heads and trex cam. with a single 750 carb. and original edelbrock pill ignition coil control box.
the guy that taught me has his bbc chevelle with efi like afr throughout the board.
with a pro series 4150 850cfm he calibrated. with n/a bbc i put together.
car runs 9s on motor.
it takes lot of hands on and the wb02 really help with calibrating.
not many will revert back to carb. when all the efi parts are easier to mod. the ls engines with carbs will make more progress in swaps imo.
Carbs are suprisingly popular on this site. Probably 99% EFI, but still enough info on here to get going.
Innovate, the company that makes wide band O2's, has a user forum too. Some very detailed carb tuning info there. Not necessarily LS specific, but carbs don't really care about the engine type.
I am at a crossroad though.
I originally bought a 5.3L that has 99% of everything I need to run EFI. I am missing a fuel pressure reg, and a HP fuel pump. I bought a new frame that I am rebuilding and putting the engine in.
But, before I bought the frame I was going to just drop the engine into the truck I am driving right now so I bought the edelbrock intake with MSD spark controller, fuel pump etc.
I don’t like the idea having to take the PMC in to have it tuned and the VATS taken out, and worrying about the 02 sensors etc just to get it running.
Another question too, what carb is everyone running. I have always run edelbrock for daily driving, but I got a brand new Q-jet to go on it.
