1973 RS Camaro LSX Swap
You're telling me! I couldn't sleep Friday night after those pics came in. I had to keep pulling them up and drooling over them...lol. It may not suit a lot of peoples taste but its exactly how Ive been picturing it in my mind. There have been plenty of times along the way when I thought I'd never actually see this car painted.
The car is back from paint. He turned it around in less than 3 months and that includes the month in the middle that I had it at home for suspension, wiring and engine/trans install. Here it is before we loaded it up at the shop. It was an overcast and wet day so no really sunny shots but at least I got to see it in natural light.

And here it is back home with a few odds and ends bolted back on.

I still have some exterior parts to buy like new bumpers. The chrome on my originals just isn't what it used to be and looks pretty bad against the new paint. I also bought new Billet Specialties Street Lites for the car but I'm toying with having them powder coated black (with the machined portions of the spokes masked off and left bare) before they go on the car.
I just picked up a new chariot for the freshly painted car. I've been wanting an enclosed for quite a while and I think I'm finally able to justify having one since I now have a truck capable of pulling one.

Thanks guys. It's been a long time coming for both the car and trailer. Things are finally coming together.
I just dropped my new Street Lites off at the powder coater tonight to be coated black.....all except for the machined inner portion of the spokes. I can't wait to see how they look on the car. Plus I absolutely HATE polishing aluminum, so the black powder coat will be nice....

Well it's been a solid month since I've updated this thread so I figured it was about time to post some pics. I obviously haven't captured as many details as I have in the past but here are the highlights.

Finished all the wiring to include the instrument panel, switch panel, nitrous controller, rear light harness and reassembled the dash and all the trunk components.

Had the side and rear glass tinted and installed all of it along with the windshield. Still have to install the front and rear window molding.

First start up in well over a year! Open headers of course.....

In preparation for reinstalling the interior, I decided to add an additional coat of paint to the floor pans since some of the original primer and paint was wearing through.

Got the passenger side door panel installed......still working on the passenger side.

Still on the list is installing most of the interior, exhaust, wheels and tires......plus probably some small details I'm forgetting at the moment. Almost time for some cruising!

I have to run chains and wheel weights on the mower because my front yard is really steep. Before the weights and chains, I'd spin in the grass trying to go up some of the hills.

$$$$$ LOL
