Default What torque convertor for 4L65E tranny?

I want to use this tranny in my 57 Chevy w/LS6,the gear ratio's are 1st 3.06,2nd 1.75-which is too big a drop and 3rd 1.00 and 4th .70. What would be a good stall speed to use? What rear-end gears would be good to use? They say the 4L65E was built to handle the torque of the LS6.Super Chevy had an article recently on this tranny and they said they lowered the shift points from 6100 rpms to 5600 rpms compared to the 4L60E which doesn't make since the LS6 revs higher.I'm assuming this is a misprint.I'd like to have her reving about 2100 at 70 mph. Thanks-there's also a site called www.smokemup.com that does that.I'm also concerned with the stall speed with the weight of my car,I was thinking a 2800-3200.

I think you would be happier with a little more converter than that. Especially with an LS6. Something like a Yank SS3600 maybe. At 3600 lbs you're not too much heavier than a stock Camaro.

How would that SS3600 be for everyday driving.Would there be any slippage?

We used that one in a 91 Firebird LS1 and it seemed VERY streetable. And of course, as you reach lock up speed there's no slip at all.

Your LS6 will like a little low end slip, and you will too!
