Stop saying that, you're driving the prices up each time you are lazy and buy the first one that come up for sale with the word "cheap" in the title

If you paid more than $500 for a complete 5.3 that wasnt a new crate engine you got ripped. Period. They are just too common and easy to find. Heck, one quick search on C'list in 3 cities showed about a dozen under $500 without crazy mileage. You just have to look
6.0's are nearly as common, but not $1400-2000. For that price, you might as well save another month and grab a LS2

I watched car-parts.com for over a month and called all the local yards once a week to find my LQ9 for $1200.
As far as all the accessories go, all the large yards like LKQ Corp. strip the motors of accessories as soon as they come in as standard procedure. They then want to charge your for each individual piece.
However those amazing deals must be really common because every time I see a thread like this there are at least 3 posts of guys saying that they got a complete LS-6, LQ9, LS1 or whatever with 30,000 miles for $800 with a harness, computer and transmission.............................. delivered to their garage........................... by Jessica Alba................. with a 6 pack of imported beer............................. naked.

I would consider $1200 a fantastic deal. $1500 for 80k miles for everything under the hood that is engine-related is what I ended up with and I feel good about that. It isn't worth the amount of time it would take to hope and look for something better, and while I'm doing that this might have slipped away. The next best price on car-parts for the whole deal is a fair bit higher (once you actually call the yard and discuss what you have to pay extra for that isn't in the online price).
