C3 ebay fans?
The 3.8 Taurus fan shows 27" wide with the shroud on amazon. This won't fit my 69 Camaro. I have 24 inches of cooling fins.

Also, I have no idea about relays. I'm guessing my ls wiring harness will send a signal to trigger two different fan relays? Any help would be appreciated.

They look great. Problem is they're too wide for my little rad if the desciption is correct 33 inches wide.

I used the dual fans off a 2000 dodge interpied, and got the wire schmatic for a 2000 chevy, and made my own relay's. Only problem the PCM is for a 2002 turck, and the PCM dont seem to kick the fans on until aprox 200-210*, I have the stock thermostat so I think It dont open until around 190* Who sell a low temp thermostat for a LQ4, look like I got to change the whole peice with bolt's in, ant info? All this is in a 1981 TTA, with stock 4fluke radiator.

Not sure why you have to change the housing to get a lower temp thermostat. I was able to get a lower temp t-stat for the LY6.

I got my fans from Jegs. As far as I can tell its the same as the SPAL and BeCool units out there. It measures 23.5" wide so it fits my Corvette core like it was made for it. Due to some lousy wiring, only one fan works on my truck. With only the one fan running, it keeps my engine cool, but the one has to run almost all the time in traffic. Once I get the wiring straight, and have a high speed fan, i hope this won't be an issue anymore. Keep in mind, this is in an S10 where the engine is only about 4" from the radiator core. Airflow sucks here...I'd think in another setup, with more room they will work even better.

Hey guys I just bought a set of junkyard 99 Windstar dual electric fans and a Derale high-amp controller that will work on up to 35 amp fans each for my '70 Monte. The Derale controller is designed to have the #1 fan to come on at any temp you set it to and it will turn the second fan on at 10 degrees higher.
My question is, on the Windstar fans, which one would you recommend being the first fan to come on (and therefore the fan that will be on most of the time) and which fan would you recommend to be the secondary or #2 fan?
Here's the deal, since my multimeter only goes to 10A, I didn't want to measure amperage while the fans were running, or my fuse doesn't stand a chance. So I measured the resistance of the fans and multiplied it by 12V (Ohms law I/ER) and the smaller fan, but with the larger motor that sticks out, comes to 35Amps. The larger fan with a more compact motor is a three terminal connector which Ford only had two wires going to and came out to 14Amps and 11Amps.
I think I would rather have the lower amp fan come on first since it draws less, but the size of the motor on the smaller fan would seem to be more durable for more use? This is where I was asking for you opinion, what would you do? Then I thought about wiring another wire, relay, to a switch in the car where if the controller were to fail, I can still have control over at least one fan and it won't leave me stranded. Any ideas or is my logic correct here? I heard a few guys with the Windstar fans say they wire the 'small' fan up to come on first and primarily, but that definately draws more amps, according to my calculation here. Even more if you do 14V, which is a normal running voltage.

Ohms law doesn't work to estimate current draw on an electric motor. Once the windings get turning inside a magnetic field they produce a back voltage, just like a generator.
Look in a service manual or do an internet search. You should be able to figure out which fan is the low speed and which is the high. if nothing else hook them up one at a time and see which one moves more air.
