Apologies for the delay, I don't recall getting notification of this post.

I use the RCMotorsports front clip kit, which is MII based and does away with the shock towers completely. These kits are avialable for just about all 60's/70's Ford unibody cars. My FEAD is all Corvette stuff and I used the truck pan due to clearance around the (RCM) crossmember. If the LH-8 pan was available when I did my swap, I'd have used it instead. The truck pan hangs about 1 1/2" below the crossmember, but I'd have to blow both front tires to skid on it.

I just noticed the hyperlinking is fugged up, it seems to LS1Tech's address to the link, so just backspace over it and you'll see the web site.

What headers are you gonna use 351W swap with LS flanges? Also what motor mounts? Sick project!

Thanks bmf your builds one reason im doing mine.

Jseely those headers look killer. I havent gotten my accessories at all yet but hopefully I can get a good deal. Did you use the ctsv ac compressor or a VA unit (sanden)?

mmag, thanks. Im gonna use an AJE kmember which comes with the mounts (http://www.ajeracing.com/64-70Mustang.php), I was gonna mod my hooker LTs with LS flanges, but it looks like there are manifolds in my future.

So Ive made some progess, and some pretty big changes to the overall picture. I decided to sell those siiick 243s i posted to recoup some $, which im gonna use to fund a front mount setup. I decided one choppy n/a car is enough, so in an effort to make this a more 'budget' build ill be putting some stock 317s on it, maybe with a small turbo cam (same bottom end).

I also pulled the old setup as you can see, sold the engine and used part of that to fund a new Stage V RPM 4l60e, along with an ls2 intake/tb. I still have the old t5 and trickflow intake to sell, thatll help too. So yeah, basically scrapped all my previous plans (manual, carb style intake w fast efi, n/a).

^keeping eachother warm

Not a good pic, but i realized i didnt show off these at all before. This is a front caliper, the rears are on already

EDIT: btw ignore the boxes, those are to ship car parts, so its okay that theyre on the car. hahaha.

Good Evening.... so GLAD to see someone doing this and doing so right now....I have my baby....1966 coupe and I'm STRONGLY considering doing this swap. The ole 289 isn't cutting it any more carbed out here in this heat in AZ. I have a friend who's good with custom fab work and loves to do custom work. He's been bugging me about putting an LS1 into my 66 for almost a year now, so I'm finally thinking I'm going to let him do it. My number one fear was that it wouldn't fit with the shock towers being so narrow. I'm thinking we could custom fab the 351W swap headers with the LS1 flange and while tight, it should fit right? Just curious how your project is coming along. Here's a pic of my baby below that I'm considering making the switch with.

This is one bad ride. Next project is a four link. It has factory 2.90 ratio i believe with open rearend. It pulls both wheels until it hits 3rd gear and around she comes.

It's because the hoser was driving it. Some Canadiens are pretty good drivers, eh?

Sorry to let everyone down, but ive got news:

sold the car for a downpayment on a new house
lost my job
no more mustang swap

the silver lining: I have 5.7, 243s, ls6 intake and f body accessories and a friend with a 350z who wants more power.

@jseely: GET A CAMERA DAMNIT! haha, you should keep this thread going with your project

maybe some people will still get some good use/info from this thread
