The powder coat only cost $165 it would have only cost $125, but I had to have it re done because of the green mistake. I keep the cost down by doing everything I can myself.
Here are some mock up pics.

Well it has been awhile here are some updates I ended up selling the Heidts clip and bought a new DSE Clip for the Chevy II.

few more updates

fitting the core support

and the sheetmetal

The Camaro pan cleared with no problems

then came the problems...

Bigger tires up front meant smaller area between wheel wells

I need to find someone to sell me a different accessory set up for my KB the Kwik performance will not work in the new DSE clip ( fit fine on the Heidts kit)

Thats one sexy nova!!!!!!!!!!!

If you got the money? Spend it

One thing I like about this build is it has top notch parts on it but you are still a purist and are doing a lot of the work yourself. Most cars that get these parts are just built by a shop.

Cant wait to see some #'s on this thing and a video

Awesome build, can't wait to see it wrapped up.

I will say this though, having dealing with a LOT of KB blowers and Whipples, that the small little manual tensioner you have will NOT keep that belt happy.
When you give the throttle quick wacks, it will slip, and squeal over time.

The issue is the massive amount of belt. When you have a short belt just going from the crank to the blower its not as bad. But when you start running all the accessories that belt is like 100+ inches long, and really had a lot of room to stretch under load. And the manual tensioner well, can't take up slack like a spring tensioner can.

If you can put one (or both) of those idlers above the water pump on sliding grooves. That way you can account for not only a bigger belt selection, but also you can use pry bars to slide those idlers in for maximum belt wrap, and tension.

Love the custom work to the car, and the drive system for the AC and other goodies! Can't wait to see more!
