yeah bud, definately buy the carshop 1 inch set back plates. very high quality and allow the use of stock mounts with no mods (and sets the engine where it would be stock) the guys at carshop are awesome to deal with.

Thanks for the help.
Did you run into the same problem? or do you have any info on what the problem is with the transdapt. It seems like they are the biggest producer of these brackets out there, but they sure don't seem to be able to get me the right stuff.

That is pretty much the way it went for me. They guy acted like he couldn't figure out why the motor mounts they sent me would not mate up to the motor mounts on the frame. It took me forever to explain to him that I had 2 sets of motor mounts (one on the motor and one on the frame) and no bracket side.
Thanks for the good info. I will look for the other adapter plates.

the problem was you have to use the correct frame mounts for the trans dapt kits, i still honeslty havent seen one person have good luck with them. because they do not compensate for the thickness of the plates as it throws off the whole geometry of the mount.
with the 1" set backs from carshop, and also the edelbrock plates, they have the tapped holes for the new mounts lower than the ls1 mounts, so it gives you the benefit of giving you the room and having everything mount up.

(wont have money for good manifolds or anything until next week, so i may start for a few seconds without manifolds, or may just jack it up and use the truck manifolds ( they hit my frame)

changed out all my lines to stainless braided teflon lines. stuff was a lot easier to work with than i thought. went together with no problem, than i reworked another harness i pickd up because i didnt like how i did mine. made sure i hooked up my mechanical oil pressure gauge, fired her up and she wouldnt idle but revved up. after scratchin my head, i realized i left like 3 intake vacuum ports open -DOH-
so i capped them for now, and she idles smooth as a baby's ***, and sounds mean as hell. I'll post a vid soon, i dont have a cooling system mocked up yet so i dont want to let it run too long. also finished up the front suspension last night as well.
she's movin along, a lil slower than i wanted to, but im staying on pace with my schedule i set for myself (got it fired initially over thanksgiving, and i want to drive it before my 23rd birthday in feb.) so i'm pluggin away.

I don't remember where I read about it but one guy used a spray on sound deafener then coated his floors with truck bedcoat.
It seemed to work well for him.
Cool ideas Ya'll.

alright. tomororw the trans is coming out, getting the vacuum lockup switch, new torque converter and seals, waiting on the money for the kickdown cable setup.
radiator support is at the shop, and iwll be getting welded up and painted soon, so i can start mocking up my cooling system.
rear end is coming out to get stripped down, replace the axle seals and rear brakes. soon enouhg, this bitch will be driving down the road. i sent a tentative drive date as feb 19 of next year (my 23rd birthday).
