Default Stupid Instruction :(

Any way tonight i was finishing up my motor and torquing down the head to the studs in the instruction from arp it say follow manufacture sequence but not torque spec so it say 75 ft lbs i start doing just that i get to the smaller nut and end up snapping the first one so now i got 2 question 1 did i miss something on torquing the small bolts and 2im using a ls9 layer gasket would it be shot if i had torque the rest down

The small bolts only get like 22ft/lbs iirc.

would it be the same for head studs? like i said there no different torque spec from arp besides 75ft lbs.
