Default Need help with LS1 swap that is running to hot

So, I have FINALLY finished my modified LS1 swap into my once dead 1985 Corvette. Today is a good day. Only one issue and I hope that someone here can help me solve it.

I am running at 200*F – 225*F

Here is what I have done so far
:
Replaced the thermostat
Replaced the radiator cap
I tried to get the block to burp by filling through the coolant temperature sensor, rocking the car and slightly revving the engine with the cap off.

Is it possible that the block still has not burped?

I am running the factory 1985 fans. They are both coming on at 180*F.

Is it possible that these fans are undersized? I have been following this build http://mcspeed.homestead.com/LSXC4.html the only difference is that I used a larger cam, CNC ported 243 heads and that’s about it. In this build they used the factory fans.

Any help would be great, thanks Mark

Thanks, Mark

my l33 which is the 5.3 aluminum block doesnt get over 200 in my chevelle I use a ford taurus fan from the 3.8l versions it pulls about 30 amps on high though, but moves 4000+cfm of air. Ive never had it run for more than 2 minutes at a time it cools so fast. and it comes on at 180

I had problems getting mine to burp as well. I filled mine from the upper hose that connects to the water pump, and that should fill your block. I have my steam tube plumbed into my water pump so I disconnected the rubber hose and let the coolant flow out of there so I knew i had all the air out. With the cap off are you seeing the water flowing or is it just stagnant?
