LS3 burping coolant from radiator cap
Just started this motor a few days ago. Originally filled coolant via the top hose into the motor.
Now I have coolant all over the floor and radiator is half empty.
Not sure how the steam line gets coolant PAST the radiator cap since the steam return is above the radiator cap seal.
1. Do I have it hooked up wrong?
2. Maybe top coolant hose is too high?
See pick.

thanks!

Yep that's your problem. Either weld a bung into the radiator or get a radiator hose T from JTR. You can also drill and tap the water pump to run the steam vent to but I like that option the least since you would need to do it again if you ever need to replace the pump. On my car I have the steam vent running into the radiator and the pressure overflow above the cap going to an overflow tank. The first few times bringing it to operating temp it will burp the air and suck up coolant from the overflow tank. I had to fill mine a couple of times until it got all the air out.

Thanks guys. Bought the JTR fitting and an overflow tank.
Vent tube is going to the JTR T fitting on the upper rad hose.
But, how does the overflow tank return fluid to the system?
