What kind of motor is this? All I have is casting numbers he said it's a ly6 but he don't really know I'm tryin to put it in a 95 caprice

from the pics it looks like a lq4 to me.
it has a 3 bolt 78mm tb and intake and looks like it has the lq4 flexplate and spacer. remove the flexplate and on the top right corner the engine size is embossed.
it will read 6.0 or 4.8/5.3
whatever it is, it does not look like a ly6
check for the 3 digit casting on the heads on the flat pad under the valve cover rail.
it should read
317
or post what ever other numbers it has.
