Alternator Wire Gauge?
The original wire gauge on my 67 Camaro is 10. I reused this gauge and connected it to the LS1 alternator. While the alternator is the lower output model, it still produces more amperage than the stock 67.
More recently, I decided to reuse the orig LS1 battery cables and noticed that the LS1 alternator wire looks to be much larger...like about 6GA.
Is the 10GA wire safe/acceptable for the LS1 application?

I have taken wires off of a variety of late model GM vehicles with alternators ranging from 102 amps and up... they use 6 gauge wire. The later model vehicles use a smaller "fusible link" wire on one end (about 6 inches long) to protect against shorts, etc.

Thanks all!
After cutting the prev mentioned 67 stock 10 ga, I decided to reuse the factory batt/alt wires and chose one of the red 4? GA.
Now I might have another issue which I will pose in another post....
