Default I tried search.... 5.3 in K5 questions.

I have done this swap in a 67 c10 but I am wanting to do it in my M1009 to ditch the diesel. I know the engine crossmember will need a little fab but can I leave the transmission in the same spot? I don't want to have to move the t-case shifter or trans shifter linkage. What mounts will place the motor in the correct position? I know there are some adjustable mounts out there.

I am thinking about doing maybe a patriot .226 cam/springs, and mac mids. Big questions is this thing has a dana 60/14bolt with 4:56's, 38's and I still want to be able to tow 5000lbs with it. What converter is going to be good to use? It has the th400 that is going to have to be built since it slips in drive when it gets hot.

I have the fuel covered, guages, etc.

I think I will save the money and convert a truck harness myself as this will be a low buck build.

If I keep the th400 I can have the computer tuned as a manual trans and everything will work correct using the th400; correct? Will is still need a vss for the computer if tuned this way?

Thanks for any help!!

If you used the Ebay motor mounts you wind up moving the trans forward an inch. And moving the crossmember and stuff.
Heres a build my buddy did on his k5 5.3 700r4 swap.

to move the engine at the flange of the transmission, the original location. 1" set back plate are usually used. Or the Adjustable one as you referred to.

If you use a TH400, you will have to setup a Kickdown cable to the T/B... might have to switch to a cable driven T/B if your is DBW. There has been some threads of how to set this up. search for them.
