Default 71 bird Spectre gas tank question

I am in the process of completing an LS swap in my 1971 firebird and just received the gas tank from Spectre. The question I have is what to do with the vent tubes on the upper portion of the passenger side of the tank?

1. Block them off? Probably not good

2. Leave the alone? Worried about gas fumes accumlating under my car when parked in the garage.

3. Run two lines from the vent tubes, up the filler neck and let the fumes evaporate near the gas cap.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Thanks

Andy

1) agreed, not a good idea, would build up pressure or vacuum as the fuel is used.
2) again. not a good idea, would leak gas and flumes
3) again.. not a good idea, would leak flumes.

Some options:
a) you can use the Firebird original EVAP system and run the vent that into it.
b) you can use the LSx EVAP Purge Valve/solenoid, but would need to have the fuel level and pressure sender input to the PCM to control the purging.
c) use a check valve and breather, run it above the tank. But still might get flumes.
d) run a small Charcoal Canister near the tank and run the vent lines to it. would have to be above the tank again. Much like the 4th Gen Camaro tank has.

Good luck. try researching on the forum, this has been talked about many times.
