Default -AN fitting for power steering line

Does anyone know which of these would work for the high pressure side going in the steering box?

That is the one I have, but I was worried about leaking since it did not have an o-ring.

Thanks

Why would you need or want an o-ring on an inverted flare fitting? Those should be a high pressure metal-to-metal seal. Adding an o-ring without a fitting & gland designed for one wont do any good.

Sorry, I did not know what an inverted flare was for. I am still a really new to this. Thanks for letting me know. I guess i am good to go. Power stearing is plumbed, and I can check that off my list.

Sorry to hijack your tread but does anyone know the fitting sizes for the jeep grand cheroke box? I know they are metric, and I believe thy are the same size as stock 98-02 f-bodies. Thanks.

GM steering boxes through about 1980 were inverted flare fittings. Then starting in 1981 they are metric fittings WITH O-rings. IIRC, the high pressure feed is a 18mm and the return is a 16mm.

Sorry I don't know the sizes for Jeeps or other cars. When I need help, I call the number at http://www.anplumbing.com and quickly get expert help and can order the right part for immediate shipment.

Backwards, the HP fitting is the smaller of the two.

FWIW, the "JIC" fittings are the same as AN, and not nearly as pricey. Thats what most hydraulic lines are made from. They are built with the same premise. 37 degree pitch and all.

You can pick em up at your local parts store (provided they aren't idiots)

Gdday!

Check www.rockauto.com and look for power steering lines of the vechicle you swiped the box from. They will give you the sizes in the description

I was under the impression that you could use the f-body hoses with the jeep box. Please correct me if I'm wrong.
