For the pressure side of the Power Steering Pump to the Steering Box I used a stock Jeep Hose. Had to adjust the bends slightly. The return line was just 3/8" hose slipped on the fittings.

Both Radiator Hoses were found at my local autoparts store. I cut and bent a coat hanger for both then found a couple of molded hoses and chopped of what I did not need. No adapters. Hoses are one piece. Oh yes and they are made right here in the good old U.S.A.!

Fuel Pump is a Walbro GSS 310. Make sure to use Submersible line in the tank. If it does not say SAE 30R10 on it do not put it in the tank. Anything else will get eaten away by the ethanol that is in the fuel.

Did you cut the hoses or use them complete?

I assume you are talking about the power steering hoses. I used a stock 1992 Jeep Wrangler pressure side hose and did not cut it. I only had to tweak the bends in the hardline portion of the hose. The return side hose is just a piece of hose clamped in place just like the factory.

That setup is really nice. While the 5.3 is nice too, I can't imagine any significant advantage worth dismantling it and doing this swap.

Yes, I loped off about half of the hoses.

Thanks for the compliment yours looks very clean as well. He ls style motor is what I wanted to do when I started the swap but at the time I was in high school and all the motors were still very spendy and I got a good deal on that motor so I went with it. Keep posting the progress I enjoy seeing it.

Last night I installed the Lokar 12" Shifter. I can't believe how well it fits this setup. When It's in Park there's plenty of room between it and the dash plus it clears my console when it's all of the way down in Low. I can also reuse the stock shift boot.

I love it when a plan comes together...

I managed to work undisturbed for about 4 hours yesterday and got most of the wiring done. I figure another couple of hours and I'll be done with all of the wiring.

I really wanted to fire it this past weekend but I just did not have the time to devote so now hopefully I'll light this thing off this week.

Here's a shot of the wiring once everything was routed. It has since been tightened up and I've got some of it in convoluted tubing.

Good news....

It starts and runs perfectly! No CEL, trans goes in and out of the gears, no leaks, fan kicks on at 210, alternator is charging 13.84 at the battery,

Now to address the long punch list of little things that need to be done before I can drive it.

A big thanks to everyone who has helped me along the way!

Drove it today. I've got a big grin on my face... This thing is bad to the bone.

Great write-up! I'm almost done with my 5.3 swap in my CJ...having some issues getting the radiator bled. I have a non steam port radiator that I will add a steam port to later, but for now I was going to bleed the system and cap the steam hose. I'm not using a surge tank, this is a standard radiator used for an old-school sbc.

Any advice on how to bleed the system?

You are right. With the short wheel base this thing is a handful to drive.

Does it want to slide around? How is everything working with it now have you gotten more drive time?

It's more of a weight transfer issue. When the front end raises up under hard accel, the geometry of the steering changes and the thing wants to pull left.

I've got a drop pitman arm on the way. That should help quite a bit.

My LS6 TJ on hard accellaration kind of lifts like a 69 Chevelle due to the four link coil suspension. Not scary just kind of unexpected considering the 4 cylinder that was in my TJ. The short wheel base and some what quick steering demands full attension on hard accelleration. The high center of gravity due to tall tires makes the TJ seem tippy.
