Yea I was hoping that guy with the dingo mounts had dropped it in, but he hasn't yet... I'm anxious to get a mock up motor over here so I can at least try some different things.

Default Dbw

Does your LQ9 have DBW throttle? If so, did you have any installation issues? I'm doing the same swap into an 86 K5.

For others that are doing this swap but to a 208 t-case, I've been looking at a site called Advance Adapters and they make an adapter that's supposed to make the 4l60e a bolt in to the 208.

Any updates on this?? I may be doing the swap into my K5 in about 2 months, fingers crossed. I have a shortblock 5.3 lm7 in my storage, I just need heads, may use the TEA ported 706's I have, but I would prefer to use them on another build. But I would really like to use an LQ4 or LQ9 in it, mild cam, headers, and a small stall. Looking up info now, going to start buying parts soon.

It's easily doable, I just don't have the shop space and room like I thought I would have by now. Not to mention being as slow as it is at work makes me nervous... I'd really be fucked having something in 1000 pieces that I couldn't easily move if I needed to get a job somewhere else. Hopefully it sells this weekend, will be another thing I don't need to move if/when the time comes.

Do you have a list of parts that you bought? or needed to buy?? I'm putting together my list so that I could start buying parts soon.

FYI i found that the astro van sending unit is the same size where it mates to the tank and same depth as the K5 tank. i am going the other way and put K5 guts in my astro van and the K5 sending unit dropped right into the 96 tank to use a mechanical pump. so there is another option to get a high pressure EFI ready sending unit and pump into K5 tanks

I am doing the same basic swap and still haven't confirmed which long tube header will work in the '73+ frame. I know the '72 and earlier are different.

I just did the swap in my 87 chevy 4x4. I did it in my driveway last summer between august and october. I drive it every day and use it to tow my 06 gto about 80mi each way back and forth to the track. The only thing it really needs is an OD trans. I have a 4l80 to put into it I just have not had the time. I had a thread over on the chevy truck forum that was posted earlier. That is a great site as is lt1swap.com. I did have an extra crossmember in the engine bay that interfered with the motor that i had to cut out of the way. I also just modified the stock pads and mounts and used the tci plates to move the engine back so that I didn't have to move the trans at all. The problem with moving the trans is lenghtening the rear ds and then shortening the front to make it all fit right.

I am using a truck pan... it will work fine and the truck acc will work fine too but the ac compressor will not work and you will have to mod the passenger motor mount cup. This is if you use the plates I used, were my motor is setting is about were they have to sit unless you want to mod the engine crossmember.

Get a 96 up vortec pump from a full size truck, it will be a direct swap with you old pump.

I'm starting my '82 K5 swap with a 6.0/4L65e. For the fuel I noticed you are using the 4 connector sender and a filter/regulator setup.
I assume the 2 lines with the fittings connect to the filter/regulator with the supply line going to the engine fuel rail.
Do you have a return line from the engine going back to the tank?

Any advise on the swap you can give would be great.
Thanks.
