LSx conversion with Cruise Control, want a cruise control "ON" light.
LSx BMW M3 conversion, 411 PCM, (Gen-III '99-'02), wanting to use the OE dash Cruise "ON/SET" indicator light in the dash.
Is it possible to splice into the pin 13 of C2 RED on the PCM? Would that wire do what I am asking for or is there another way to get an indicator to illuminate when cruise is on and set, versus building a elaborate circuit with relays to monitor cruise switches, pedal switches etc?

pin 13 on C2 is an input to the PCM to let it know when the cruise is on. I don`t know of any outputs from the PCM for the cruise.
On my brothers swap I used 2 relays to make the cruise light work. What is your actuator system for the cruise? Are you using GM cruise control hardware or BMW?

Well, if you are using the f-body cruise system, then tapping into pin 13 on c2 may work, because the GM cruise module will send a signal to the PCM on that wire. There are a couple of possible issues though.
1. I don`t know if it will be a +12v, +5v, or a ground signal.
2. I know that the PCM knows when the cruise is on via that wire, but I don`t know if that wire is activated only when the cruise is engaged, or if it is also active when the cruise switch is in the on position, but not engaged.
I don`t have a GM cruise setup on any of my swaps so you would have to check it out yourself. Try hooking a digital voltmeter to the wire that goes to pin 13 of C2 and see what the voltage does when you turn the cruise on and engage it.

Having read every post and asked this very question in that thread, (last post), with no joy, I started this thread hoping to get some discussion/answers regarding the "cruise engaged" light and if terminal "J" can be used for such.
If you run across anything else that may be of help, please share.
