LS6 vs BBC 396 I need HELP making a Decision!!

The only reason I would go old school is if I wanted that look or was trying to create an original muscle car feel. For performance, longitivity and driveability, I would not even consider a 396 over an LS motor. Now if you said you wanted to go really fast and were considering a 454, then you would have an argument, but not the 396.

Ok Im SOLD !!!! Thank you everyone for responses. I picked up a complete LS1 with harness, intake, all accessories pullies etc for 1200 bucks today. even had a torque converter on it. The guy pulled it out of his car yesterday and dropped in an ls2. Now I just need to track down a t56 and im off to a pretty good start.
