There is one more bit of fun if you intend to run these PACE/Edelbrock coil covers. The coils no longer use the factory brackets. They bolt to the bottom side of the new covers. In this new layout, the wiring harness is far from ideal the way it is wrapped from the factory, so I unwrapped mine and lengthened the wires to 5, 7, 2 & 4, then re-wrapped them. Now they fit in the new covers nice and are not too close to the spark plug boots.

Unwrapping these things totally sucks because the tape they wrap them with is petrified to a concrete hardness.

^^^ I've been thinking about getting a set of these. Could you share more details of what you had to do with the wiring? Thanks.

I tried to be pretty specific in post 22. What else do you want to know?

How much length did you have to add to the wires? How should they be wrapped to make things work? Pics say a 1000 words if you've got em.

They are installed already, but I will take them off again when the motor goes in. It is nothing to terribly complex, you just need the proper colored wire and a good soldering set up. Just unwrap the harness, route the wires where you want them, lengthen the ones that don't reach, shrink wrap the new connections and then re-wrap it with high quality electrical tape. The big pain is the damn tape that came from the factory turns into a brittle mess that has to be picked off in pieces in some places. Time consuming and annoying more than anything.

Get some longer wires and hide them!
