Default Pinion angle for 67 chevelle

I want to make sure about where to measure pinion angle from.i read rear tail shaft of transmission.5 degrees give or take.i installed eldebrock mounts and motor seems to sit good . Only thing that hits is inner tie rods on lower part of pan . Im going to swap tie rods around so that grease fitting will be to back of ball joint . Wont loose but a short distance of steering will weld in a stop

I checked my pinion angle on the input yoke on the differential, using a magnetic level. The cast-in reinforcement rib on the side of your 12 / 10 bolt is paralell to the pinion, you can use that, too. You want the transmission angle to be close to the same angle (opposite of course) As for the pan, GMPP has a swap oil pan for $128 including pickup tube and windage tray, that should fit your Chevelle. If your pinion angle is -3, you want your trans to be +3, keeps the u-joints happy. (just giving examples of course)
