8.1 into 94 camaro
That said, when i worked at a shop, i put a whipple on a 05 Chevy crew cab 4x4 with the 8.1 it defently woke it up, but not quite what we where expecting. IMO you'd be better off with the lt1 than that 8.1. but you have the 6.0 ls which is even better
only down side is you cant say SGOTTA BIG BLOCK!! but chicks dont dig that anymore anyway.

You get the same coil on plug ignition as the LSx platforms, you can use traditional bbc roller rockers and studs, an ls1 dbc tb will bolt right up also. And check out this quote, here's where my uncle and I got our motivation from.
By the way - I searched the Chevelle forums and found a backtrack to the NastyZ28 forums...
There appears to be some interest in these things - but most guys bail when it comes to needing to get the DBW working...which is no big deal at all.
This post here was very encouraging:
We have one in Brothers truck. 2500 HD, he dropped a bolt in the intake is shattered a piston. I pulled it and disasembeled it. Took it to Ashwoth Proformance in Fuquay NC he bored it to 524 CI to clean it up, Port and polished the heads balance and bluprinted the block ECT..... Had to stay with OEM cam no aftermarket to be found, steel crank so we left it in had it micropolished ECT... 2700 reinstaled it changed the airfilter config to get more air. then took it to a dyno tunning 400.00 later and 4 hours there 590 HP and 545 Foot lbs toqure at the back wheels . Not bad for a stock cam and stock exaust still on it. The block has good potental.

With little aftermarket and no top end power, it'd just be cool that you did it, but the 6.0 would be the way to go. My two cents.
