Default Swap Idea i am having

I have a 2002 Olds siloutte van. Its got the 3.4L V6 in it. I have been toying with the idea of something different and seeing about swapping in a 5.3L from the grand prix/monte ss platform. What i am curious about and if anyone on here would know what some dimensions are of the cradle under the monte or the GP? My van has a craddle that i am guessing is close to them. Like is aid this is in the early stages of thought but it might make for a fun driver once its done.

Interesting choice for a swap, but there is alot of space under that hood so it's definetly duable. Don't sweat the measurements, that mini van was modled after the H body platform (bonneville, le saber). It's got more girth under that hood than the monte carlo ss you're probably gonna pull the engine from.

If you're serious, pick up another engine cradle for your van from a salvage yard. then get the LS4/A4 combo from the donor vehicle for the swap, and weld up your motor mounts using the tranny mounts as the reference point for where the engine sits. If I remember right that engine bay has 2 mounts that link the engine to the front of the engine bay, to minimize twist. Get it installed and fab up those mounts, then it's downhill from there.

If you do this, I definetly want to see a build thread

You're going to want to switch the trans, they dont always play nice behind a stock LS4 in the small cars. Using it in the heavier van will spell disaster. Have to figure out a starter mount if you change the trans though. It does open up the possibility of the G6 6 speed

Yes thats true this is going to be WAY different if i can get it pulled off. It wont be a drag race or beet on it type of thing so not to worried bout the tranny holding up....but...hmmmm a 6 speed would be fun in it!!
