$4500 for a LS6........ is high....period

If he parted the motor out he would not even get $4500

$1000 for the shortblock with 26-30K ($2-2500 brand new from scdp on sale)
$500 for the heads
$400 for accesorries
$250 LS6 intake complete
$200 for the harness
$150 for the pcm ( I have bought ECM/PCM's from LkQ for $100)
$2500

So where the fugg does the $4500 come in?

think again hauz

How about the assembly and the PITA to find all these parts. I've never seen a LS6 intake sell for 250 either, but I don't cruise this forum all day either.

An LS2 has everything the LS6 has, plus a few added enhancements. LS3's are better yet.

An LS6 vette probably does have more collector appeal. They are a significant perfromance milestone in vette history and they didn't make a whole lot of them before upgrading to the LS2. In that sense the motors are worth more, but for a swap into another car better off starting with a different motor.

Good, bad or otherwise the fact is people pay more for vette engines, something anyone selling one should keep in mind. $4500 does sound like someone trolling.

I have done the swap in another car, so i know what it cost, i only have a liitle over $2000 in my engine so it wouldnt be bad, i would just like to see how good i could get it to run in a mustang, i havent heard back from him so probably wont happen anyways.
