Spectra efi gas tank??yay or nay???

I got the new style tank at the end of last summer. I really think the only change is the extra baffle in the bowl as documented in this thread. I have had no issues with it and a walbro 255 making 600hp, but some folks seem to have more issues.

New tanks
I just read about Aeromotive releasing a new tank for 1st gen camaros. read it it Car Craft mag and also found it on their website. Couldn't find any pricing or availability but it looks good. Now it they will just make one for my chevelle.

Spectra EFI tank (resurrected thread from '12) for 1969 Camaro 450hp LS1
I have a '69 camaro that came with the Spectra tank, sender & pump, I would prefer to modify it and save a few $$ but don't want to spend dollars to save nickels and just buy a tanks pump/tank setup. I'm wondering if anyone with the old/new Spectra tank has tried a Holley Hydramat? https://www.holley.com/products/fuel_systems/hydramat/ It's not a cheap fix, but may solve the starvation? But by the time I buy that, new pump, mod sender etc. I may be in the price range for a better tank? Any thoughts.

I have the newer style tank with the pan, original pump started failing within 500 miles, installed new AC delco pump. Was hoping the new pump would help with starvation issues as well but no luck. Anytime below 1/2 tank and WOT operations it causes starvation, more than likely why the first pump failed. Yesterday I jumped on it from a stop and lost power at 80mph, pumped 12 gallons into the 20 gal tank to fill it and then it pulled until I ran out of payment.
Skip this tank, find a better option, or regret it.

Does the skylark tank have room to install a GM LS fuel bucket? The early fbody tanks are not deep enough. My 78 tank is just deep enough. I compressed the bucket to the max, I considered cutting/shortening it to make it fit. I recessed mine so it didn't hit the trunk.

I am running the Tanks Inc set up in my stock 1965 Buick Skylark with no problems at all. Back then I had to modify the stock tank for the pump to fit.
Now they make a tank that is prefabbed for the pump and gas gauge sending unit. If I was going to do it today that is route I would go.

I bought the aeromotive 340 swap tank, it is the tanks Inc tank. With aeromotive 340 pump looks nice haven't tried it out yet. I'm hoping I don't have the starvation issue, it supposibly has baffles already is what aeromotives sight says but haven't really looked inside. Have only got it mocked up to finish fuel lines.

I don't think the tanks inc is any better. Check out post 131 on page 7 of this thread. Great explanation on why OEM GM works with LSx swaps...cause they came from the factory that way! System is engineered to eliminate or minimize air being suck in (which kills pump), bucket of fuel keeps the pump cool and quiet..and has a built in fuel pressure regulator.
Biggest issue is height of the fuel bucket. Stock fbody bucket can be shortened with some work. Higher HP may not work with stock fbody pump but there are more expensive buckets rated for higher HP out there (cts-v, 5th gen camaro).
Big money can be spent on highly engineered tanks such as ricks or Vaporworx. They are nice tank setups but will set you back some money.

Here's the post on the GM fuel bucket

The new tanks inc tank does look like it is a better setup than their first FI attempt. I do like the recess it has so the lines don't hit the trunk. I wonder how much the fuel will cool and quiet the pump, and if it has any way to minimize or preventing ypthe pump from sucking air.

Yeah looking at the tanks inc site that baffle looks better than the first design, I'm hoping that I dont have the starvation issues. I figured aeromotive would look into that issue before they put their pump slash name on it. Guess when I get mine running I'll find out.
