Default 6.0l lq4

Just saw for sale a T/a converted to a 6.0l LQ4. What have come to find is that this is a truck motor with an iron block. Any personal experience? Pros/cons compared to the original Ls1??

It's pretty common. Truck motors are iron which is stronger than aluminum and have a bigger bore. The LQ4 is a low compression motor which is a bit of a draw back if they didn't change the heads. Not an uncommon swap by any means.

Pros= Theres no replacement for displacement, if you run the LS1 heads then you will bump the compression up, the iron blocks are more durable if boost is in the works. All of your LS1 accessories will bolt to the iron block.
Con=6.0 iron block is 65lbs heavier than aluminum LS1 block.

Mostly true you will have to drill and tap a hole for the alt. As the lq4 has the boss but it is solid also it is missing one of the other alt bracket bosses but that's not important.
