New mechanical speedometer drive solution
Hello all, we have decided to pull this off the back burner and get back at it. Let review, we have a working prototype, have upgraded the motor (need to test it more) have a circuit board printed, and a component list. Not going to lie, yes its a slow process, yes we want it to work, but want a perfect product. We will keep you all posted......now back to work...(evil mad scientist laugh)......

SO is this gonna be a DIY box with a parts list and you sell a board? Im gonna need to remedy this issue in a few months. Ive got an olds with the 120deg sweep speedo and im hesitant to buy a cable X for reliability reasons, and the fact its so damn expensive
Its going to be a complete unit. you connect a couple of wires, install drive motor on speedo where the cable went, and push the calibrate button. 40 seconds later, you are ready to go. Once its available, we will go through the proper channels to advertise.

Just purchased a 66 Wagoneer with a 6.0L Vortec mated to a 4L65E tranny. Waiting with baited breath on this project, then figure out how to make the factory temp, oil, and voltage gauges work.
Awesome work guys, and like most I only understood 1/4 of what your talking about on the technical side.
Just an idea if money is getting tight for you guys, have you though about kickstarter? I know I'd gladly donate some money to this project.

Been watching this thread for a while also. I purchased the Dakota Digital unit several months ago from Summit for my ls powered Chevy II wagon. I approached this with great apprehension as it was new on the market place. Well it exceeded my expectations and is working extremely good. I will be driving 6k miles this summer so I will find out if there are any problems. Very happy in the 1st couple hundred miles. And no, I don't work for Dakota or Summit. Just happy for a product to work correctly out of the box 😀
