how to pre lube a LS7 before start-up?
I've pre lubed a normal LS motor with a hand pump through the oil galley plug, but not sure if the dry sump changes anything or not. I would assume that the oil just goes through the engine and into the oil tank so I can pump as much oil as I want through the engine. If the oil does not freely move into the tank, I don't want to pump too much oil into the engine.
Guess my question is does it matter how much oil goes into the engine vs. the oil tank before start-up, or can I just pump a couple quarts through the engine and not worry about it?

I just found a link that says the engine holds 1 quart of oil and the tank holds 7, so I'll just pump a quart through the engine and put the other 7 into the tank.

I was going to buy one, but my dad built it out of a garden sprayer hand pump with an in-line pressure gauge, valve, and air hose fittings. Just pump it up to 35 PSI, flip the valve, and the oil slowly gets pumped through the engine.
