OH MAN.... Showing some love for the full sizes!!!

I MISS my 67. Yeah it was a big boat. And it was a 4-door. But being a true hardtop, with all the windows down it felt like a 2-door. It was a bit of a basketcase when I got it. But it had SUPER low miles. One owner..little old man.

I had to put a whole rear clip on it. Then the whole car was primered. Then I tore the front end off and rebuilt/dressed the motor. Sold it shortly after before I could finish the car or paint it...and I regret it. Because a 6.0 and 4L80E would be WONDERFUL in that car!!!!

Some pics to ***** up your thread more haha

As I got it...

After my work started..

Sorry for the hi-jack..haha. I can remove em if you want. I just got really excited when I saw someone was working on a Catalina which was pretty similar.

Cant wait to see the finished produt!

J.

looks like I may have to alter or make another tranny brace to route the exshaust pipes.

Found a 1'' solid sway bar to mount in the rear ( catalinas came with no rear bars), had to make my own brackets.

I attended Slowhawk Performance dyno day event, great time, lots of muscle on the dyno. Came back home and worked on my car, first time in 2 weeks due to back pains.

I love your install! I have a 67 Pontiac Grand Prix and was thinking the same thing. What motor mounts do you have? or did you make your own for the LS engine?

I made my own from 1/4" flat stock. I haven't touched this car for 4 1/2 months, tomorrow i go under the knife for my back problems, than it's 2 more months of healing. So I guest this car is stalled for another 3 months.
It's been hanging on the lift since December.

absolutely love the car and all the other bonnevilles/catalinas in the thread.

my first car was a 1968 pontiac bonneville my grandfather gave me that I just can't bring myself to sell. she's in rough shape now and needs a lot of work after sitting for 4 years. I just stuck a new radiator in it 3 weeks ago and drove her for the first time, planning on getting her road worthy again. my buddies keep telling me to stick my LS6 long block in the car and fix it up. after seeing how much room you have it certainly is tempting!

not pretty now but its a 62k mile all original car and I am the third owner.

definitely subscribing to your thread and following this one.

oh one question I wanted to ask but forgot, what are you doing for a shifter? just going to mount one on the transmission tunnel or are you going to do something with the column shifter?

Will be using the column shifter, by altering the shaft to pivot point to the tranny, cheaper and will look stock.

Ill have to look in to that, I want to put a 200-4R in my car for the time being so my 95% highway commute isnt too bad on gas and wanted to retain the column shifter.

Default BACK in action

Today is the 1st day I touched the car in 8 months, felt good to turn the wrenches again. I started the front brake upgrade using C3 spindles and hubs, z51 13.5 rotors and C5 calipers. I'm still in the mock up stage, I'll need to build some brackets from1/4 stock.

Once I got all the parts to line up, I'll clean and paint them.

Started working on the car again, and it felt good. It took 3 different mods and 2 days to get the front calibers brackets correct. but their done.

I was going to install QA1 coilovers, but I changed my mind because it won't be auto-crossed. so regular springs and shocks it is. I plan on spend a lot of time DD this car.

No sir, it's a catalina. Pontiac changed the B-body frame in 1968 only, than went back to the older frame. in 68 they made a Ventura addiction with different options for that year only.

1968 Pontiac Catalina

Peripheral front bumper, pointed nose, split grille, new interior, revised instrument panel, and redesigned taillights were the new styling features of the 1968 Pontiac Catalina. The Catalina's safety features included the standard GM equipment. They had a cigar lighter, glove box and ashtray lights, wood-grained dash trim, carpeting, concealed two-speed wipers, and a 2-barrel carburetor was also standard. The Catalina convertibles and station wagons had Morrokide seats and the nine passenger station wagon had a power window in the tailgate. Catalinas still had the Ventura Custom trim option, some with bucket seats and other with bench seats, which gave you a special interior trim and "Ventura" lettering on the front fenders were it would say "Catalina" normally.
